Rottmnt tail headcanons! >:3
A continuation of this post :D
(Notes if you can’t read my handwriting + rambles under cut)
I’ve always been super indecisive about how I want to draw the boys’ tails, so I decided to sit down and draw them so that it would stay consistent in future drawings. I’ve always loved Raph having a huge alligator tail, so of course I had to keep that. The others are pretty self-explanatory, the only one I really had trouble with was Leo. What would Leo’s tail look like? After looking at pictures of real red eared sliders what I decided to do was keep the general shape language they all have. So I decided to make his tail a little thicker at the base to keep it simple and triangular. I think it fits him pretty well. Also, as much as I love the turtles doing little happy wags with their tails, I really only think Donnie and Mikey would do it often. Leo and Raph would have to be pretty damn happy for their tails to wiggle. Same goes with all the other emotions. I think Raph has just learned not to move his tail much as it’s pretty big and can make a mess of things. Leo on the other hand is just more chill with his tail as I HC him as more add than adhd. So yeah, do with this what you will :)
Notes:
Raph:
- THICC, very long, spines along length, alligator tail lol
Donnie:
- skinny, long, rectangles, pretty stiff, very expressive, useful for stimming
Leo:
- thicker than Don, three stripes, around same length as Don, super chill/doesn’t move much
Mikey:
- very stubby hehe, circles yay, very stimmy, very expressive (more-so than Donnie), short but fat lol

hihi! srry if youve answers this but mobile isnt making it easy to search. what's your general process for making moodboards? it's weird bc I have nooo problem making stim boards! but mbs are rly difficult for my brain evn though I wanna. how do you do it?
Hello hello! I haven't answered this before, but it's a great question!!
I usually start with either an original idea or a request that I feel like doing (sorry people who've been waiting a long time), and at that point I usually have some idea in my head of the color scheme or vibes that I want it to have and set out to Pinterest!
I gave my list of go-to items to search in a previous ask, which can be found here!
Once I've found at least 9 pictures (sometimes more than 9 for extra options) I crop them all to a 1:1 ratio so they appear as a grid of squares instead of rectangles, and sometimes make minor alterations to the color temperature (warm or cool tones) so the pictures all look coherent!
After that I play around with the composition of the picture, which can take a while depending on how many colors I'm working with. Here are 2 examples of what I mean!

This one has 2 main focus colors (as most of my moodboards do), green and brown, so the composition of it alternates between the two colors the whole time! I would also do this if it had 3 main colors. This just makes it look more even overall; to me, at least.

This one, on the other hand, is just 1 focus color, which is grey! So I didn't worry as much about the composition of it. I could move anything here to any other place, and it would be approximately the same! I treat moodboards with more than 3 focus colors the same way as moodboards with just 1, so those are less deliberately structured.
After all of that, I choose which dni banner I think fits best with what I made, write my tags out, and I'm done!! This process usually takes 20 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on how long it takes me to find the right pictures!
I hope this walkthrough of my process was helpful, and obviously there's no singular correct way to make moodboards!! Good luck Anon!
#i have Internet again!#i think I'm going to just get back to my regular schedule tomorrow#anyway#this was fun!!#my process is pretty rigid#i do it basically the same way every time#sometimes it's time consuming other times it's not#i don't have much time to work on original ideas these days#though i do still make some#anyway i really hope this helps you!#if you can make stimboards your page is already so different from mine!!#i can't make them#despite popular demand#this got so long#again#whoops#Pip's barks

Awesome!! If you don't do all of these, I completely understand. Just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask, you know?
First is my Toy Story alien pop it that I have attached to my stim toy travel bag

Next is my green fidget cube

And this weird coil thingy I like rolling on my thumb that I found on the ground at the theater I work at

My clicky dude (I don't remember what it's actually called). Colors are hard to see in the picture, but it's orange and yellow. Like. The most standard versions of those colors

Lastly, is my broken citrus colored tangle that I still use irregardless. Again, the colors look off. It has orange clear bits, and solid light green and yellow bits

Again, no worries if you don't make them all! Thank you for offering nonetheless! It's just fun sharing my stim toys in general, so if enjoyment of seeing my favorite stim toys is all that happens here, I'm happy 😊
[ID: a photo of a pop-it shaped like the head of an alien from Toy Story. end ID]
[ID: three photos of someone holding a white and green fidget cube. end ID]
[ID: two photos of someone holding a small, scrunchie-like plastic ring with large ridges. end ID]
[ID: a photo of someone holding a yellow and orange click stick shaped as a rectangle. end ID]
[ID: a photo of a broken tangle toy laying on a desk, with segments coloured light green, yellow, and transparent orange. end ID]
was unable make tangle due to not being able to figure out shape of it. first two have been posted long time ago, here are second two!!

Idk if this is stimming. But i like to play with paper and fold it until it's really small squares/rectangles and then I use the creases to rip them off neatly and pile them. I used to be more visible about this until a teacher told me it was weird but she wasn't getting involved. I like how the paper feels and it gives my hands something to do and it feels purposeful

Story: Angels in Pajamas
Character: Jinx Johnson (JJ)

Jinx is 16, and completely human. He has four parents, and is an only child. He is autistic and has Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (he lives on sodium naproxen and acetaminophen and uses one biologic infusion to try to help things, but his body is stubborn, unfortunately).
He is also a nonbinary transmasculine person, though he knows his and uses just “trans” as it’s easier in a small New Mexico town. He likes some xenogenders and neopronouns, though I don’t know exactly what yet.
So, he started out with two parents as most do (Hank and Dieu), who later realized they are not straight and divorced, Hank ended up married to Antonio and sometimes partners with Dieu again, and Dieu married Terri. They all four live together with Jinx, two cats (Uhura and Riley), and tanks of fish, aquatic frogs, and land toads.
He is bullied at school, especially because no one knows he associates with Maggie (sports star) and he’s autistic and queer/has queer parents. He doesn’t interact with very many kids at school unless forced into a group project with some.
He prizes his pokemon merch collection, his truck (a light blue 90s Chevy pickup with a tow hitch), his medical gear (compression socks and gloves and a heated blanket), his collection of blankets, plushies, and pillows, and his zip-up binder (safe zip binder!).
He loves running cross country when his body allows it, playing all sorts of pokemon games, learning mythology, laying under his weighted blanket and listening to binaural beats, getting his nails painted by Hank, and watching Star Trek with all of his parents. He’s getting better at stimming and managing overstimulation, but it is still difficult on bad days.
He has one stick and poke tattoo, a sun on his right index finger. He is mixed Vietnamese-African-American, and has darker skin. His hair is medium-length and black, pulled into cornrows with beads and then put into a topknot. He’s got dark freckles, rectangle glasses, and usually has painted nails.

Med kit creation and research.
"The first, unobvious way in which games carelessly and repeatedly break the Geneva Conventions is marking healing items. It turns out that the symbol of the red cross on a white background is reserved exclusively for helping victims of war conflicts – using it in other cases is a violation of the law."
It turns out using the red cross on a white background is against the Geneva convention.
There are lots of different types of med kits and health pickups, these include the standard health box which cold be made interesting by adding a strapping around it.
Another type of health item is a syringe or stim. This could be an interesting choice but maybe I could make this heal less health.
Another one is tablets which may work but I feel it could be used in other ways instead of health. this could be by giving other powers.
Almost like the gumballs from COD zombies.
Lastly I could use a bag like what I have shown in an image above this could be a cool thing but I feel it would take too long for the drug to be administered, this could however be used for before resting to regain health during a "sleep"
First I started by adding a cube in then I flattened I out and stretched it to make a rectangle. Then I added another cube on top and dragged it vertically, then select the face tool and select everything on the new cube except the top and the bottom. then extrude it, when you extrude it make sure keep faces together is off.
This should make the cross, simply lower this down to where you want to place it.
Next we make the handle, Starting with a cube again scale it to the handle thickness you want, then cut a line at each end, probably about 10 percent. Then select face and shift click the faces facing the box and extrude them.
Next we need to turn the shapes we made into 1, to do this we need to use the boolean tool, first select your objects you want to make into one shape and select boolean
Then select union for each object.
Then we will select the whole kit and delete history like we did on the chair.
Lastly we need to add material and color. First go into face mode and select all faces you want to be colored in the same color. then hold right click and select assign new material.
Then add new lambert material which means not shiny.
This will then pop up
simply select the color panel and change it to whatever you want.
Then you have a simple med kit made.
Added things:
Personally I have added a few things including a curved shell of the case, straps, a buckle and a box outlining the cross.
To do the curved shell I selected edges and shift clicked the edges of the shell then beveled them which made them rounder.
To make the leather straps I cut strips into the box and extruded them, then I colored them a dark brown.
To make the outline of the cross I got a cylinder then thinned it and colored it red. Lastly I beveled it to make it sit flush.
Next the buckles, I first made a cube and then cut a cube out of it, then to make the actual buckle I made a bar going across the middle with a curved pin coming out of it and going through a hole.

Autistic April Day 24: Autistic Owned Small Businesses.
There are two Autistic owned small businesses that I am very fond of and they are rainbow brain parade and Retrophilliac.
Rainbow Brain Parade is an etsy store that is rain by an Autistic person in Melbourne Australia. She sells heaps of fun neurodiversity merchandise. I brought this Autism Booster keyring from her. I love the joke behind it and it's great for stimming with. I would recommend checking out her store on Etsy.
Retrophiliac is ran by an Autistic person living in British Columbia Canada. They sell heaps of awesome disability and pride pins, keyrings and lanyards. I brought this pin from them. Once when I was wearing it a man noticed it and asked what it said and I explained to him that it said that I was Autistic. It's great for telling people that I'm Autistic. They sell heaps of cool things in their etsy store that I recommend checking out.
If you look around online there are plenty of fun and cool Autistic owned small businesses to support. As employment is hard for many Autistic people to find it is great to support these small businesses.
Image Descriptions:
1: This is the keyring that I got from Rainbow Brain Parade. There is a keyring that resembles a vaccination. It has "Autism booster" written on it in blue font. There are different coloured stars and rainbow infinity symbols inside of it.
2: This is the pin I got from Retrophilliac. It is a black rectangle shaped pin with the word "Autistic" written in gold text.
3: Image Description:
There are a list of prompts for each day of the month for Autistic April. The top and bottom of the image is light purple and the middle part of the image is white with black text on it. The black text says "Autistic April 2024 Prompts: 1: Special interests 2: How you found out you were Autistic 3: your favourite stim 4: alternative forms of communication 5: your favourite fidget toys 6: textures you hate 7: safe foods 8: other disabilities you have 9: LBGTQI+ 10: childhood special interests11: comfort items 12: your favourite Autistic celebrities or characters13: unmasking 14: sensory aids 15: misdiagnosis 16: Autism friendly places 17: Disability support you have received 18: animals 19: favourite thing about being Autistic 20: echolalia 21: idenity first or Person first language 22: the spoon theory
23: colours that represent Autism (not blue) 24: Autistic owned small businesses 25: meltdowns and/or shutdowns 26: Your clothing prefences 27: Self care 28: Relatable Autism memes 29: Accessibility 30: routines" There is an infinity symbol that is half red and half gold on the top right corner of the white section. End Description.

Okay, knitting and crochet are both versions of "you have string and fancy stick(s). Using fancy stick(s), pull loops of string through other loops...in very specific, direction-specific, standardized ways...and you will have fabric! Learn fancier techniques of 'pull loops through other loops' to make specific shapes and textures."
So. The BASICS of crochet (chain, single crochet) are about as easy as the basics of knitting (cast on, knit, purl, bind off). Also, if you're comfortable with one, it's easier to learn the other because you already know about things like holding yarn and your project, picking up loops/stitches, yarn tension, gauge, DIRECTION DOES MATTER, dropping a stitch/losing your loop is BAD (try not to do that), etc.
(My mom - who is VERY GOOD at crochet, in the same way I'm VERY GOOD at knitting - and I both used to teach our respective crafts. We saw this over and over in person.)
Anyway, fancier techniques in knitting include ways to increase and decrease, ways to cast on/bind off, "knit through back loop", etc. All the ways to make shape and texture (that's not "flat rectangle.")
Fancier techniques in crochet are like...all the other stitches, putting multiple stitches into one stitch, READING A HECKING PATTERN/CHART, etc.
So. I 100% get "I'm overwhelmed, my brain shut down, I can't focus long enough to figure this out." That's been me for the last...idk, year? Maybe longer?...until I quit my job a few weeks ago and got rid of 80% of my stress. Which is why I now have the mental capacity to do things like "relearn crochet in more detail." (My mom taught me the basics as a kid. I think I got as far as daisy chain, single crochet, and double crochet before I was like "eeeeeh, no thanks.")
But if you *CAN* manage the basics, you can still make things! I used to have a list of "things you can make out of a rectangle of fabric, possibly with some sewing" from back in my days of teaching knitting.
Dishclothes and hot pads were on the list. Hell, I'm currently making a headband out of garter stitch (cast on, then knit every stitch, no purl required). Partly because I want a headband that fits my head, and partly because I REALLY LIKE having a small, easily portable project that I don't have to THINK about when I'm working on it.
Idk if you can get comfortable with the basics while you're (it sounds like) burnt out, but if you can, maybe having a simple handcraft will give you a sense of "yay! I made this!" and/or "ah yes, stimming that makes something, how soothing."
If not, there's a bunch of other crafts that are even easier. Get something sampler-sized and see if you like it.
Which is a long way of going "if you can't manage Fancy Stuff right now, Basic Stuff is totally okay! And if you need Even MORE Basic Stuff, that's good too. Do what works for you and don't stress yourself. Hobbies should be fun, not work."
So I'm trying to teach myself crochet from a book, and I'm like...you have SIX main stitches, not including "do I skip a stitch when I connect to the prev row? Do I put 2 stitches into the same stitch of the prev row?" (AKA "how to decrease or increase your stitches.")
Knitting has TWO. (3 if you include cast ons, which you ONLY use at the beginning.) And they're precise opposites (mirror images) of each other.
(Knitting increases are "make 2 stitches in prev row's stitch," [knit-front-back], "insert needle into yarn between stitches" [make 1], or "wrap yarn between stitches" [yarn over], and decreases are "insert needle into TWO stitches." So I guess those can count too.)
Knitting:
Knit (hold yarn behind, insert needle bottom-to-top, bring yarn to front between needles, pull through loop)
Purl (hold yarn in front, insert needle top-to-bottom, bring yarn to back between needles, pull through loop)
Crocheting:
Chain: wrap yarn, pull through 1 loop
Slip: pick up stitch, wrap yarn, pull through 2 loops
Single: pick up stitch, wrap yarn, pull through 1 loop, (wrap yarn, pull through 2 loops) x1
Half Double: wrap yarn, pick up stitch, pull through 1 loop, wrap yarn, pull through *3* loops
Double: wrap yarn, pick up stitch, (wrap yarn, pull through 2 loops) x2
Triple/Treble: wrap yarn 2 times, pick up stitch, (wrap yarn, pull through 2 loops) x3
Chain stitch - like a yarn over for knitting - doesn't connect to the previous row and therefore makes a little hole. Very useful for lacy designs! Slip, single, half double, double, and triple make progressively taller stitches.
I mean, I guess crochet's stitches are chain vs single, and then variations (expansions) of single, the way that knitting is knit vs purl, and then variations of those.
But still. Grumble grumble grumble, why is it so hard, mutter mutter mutter.
And, like literally ALL OF LIFE, the farther you dig into a subject, the more tiny subsidivisions and specializations people have made. Surface-level is easy. Expert level is CRAZY.
